🐕 MY RESCUE STORY🐕

Hi there — I’m Suhong! I was rescued from a city shelter just in time, when I was on the euthanasia list. My health was pretty fragile back then, but some kind-hearted rescuers took me under their wing and gave me the care and love I desperately needed.

💊 MY HEALTH🏥

  • Fully vaccinated (5-round series complete)
  • Heartworm treatment completed as of 2024. Aug
  • I’ve been neutered and have no other known health issues.

🐕 MY PERSONALITY🐕

When you first meet me, you’ll notice my calm demeanor and beautiful white coat right away. I’m a bit shy at first, but with a few treats, I’ll quickly warm up and happily let you pet me. I’m not a fan of being picked up, but I love gentle pets and calm, friendly greetings. Though I’m cautious at first, once I open up, I’ll become a loyal and loving companion for life.

🐕 MY SOCIAL SKILLS🐕

- With People: I’m a gentle and sweet pup who really enjoys spending time with people. Because I’m naturally cautious, I might be a little shy at first and need some time to feel comfortable. But with some treats and gentle attention, I warm up quickly and love getting pets and affection.

I’m not comfortable being picked up right away — it can make me freeze up — so I’ll need to build trust and a strong bond before I’m ready for that kind of closeness.

- With Dogs:  I do really well with people, but I tend to be a bit scared around other dogs. I usually prefer doing my own thing rather than playing with them. Even if another dog isn’t very friendly, I won’t react — I’m not one for conflict. I tend to avoid trouble and mostly just stay indifferent around other dogs.

- With Cats:  I haven’t met any cats yet, but with my sweet and calm energy, I think I could learn to live peacefully with a feline friend with slow and thoughtful introductions.

🔋 ENERGY AND ACTIVITIES 🎲

I have a moderate energy level and enjoy a nice balance of time both outdoors and indoors.

🎲TRAINING & HABITS⭐

I focus really well on my handler and walk nicely on leash. I don’t guard my food or toys from people or other dogs. I’m a quiet pup and rarely bark. I also know how to rest calmly in my kennel and am fully potty trained both indoors and outdoors. I carry many of the quiet, well-mannered, and reserved qualities that Jindos are known and treasured for.

🏠 MY IDEAL HOME 💕

I’m looking for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:

- A family that offers a safe, structured, and calm environment.

- A family that enjoys spending quality time together indoors & outdoors.

- A family that can shower me with love and attention.

- Understanding of my timid, cautious nature and willing to be patient and use positive reinforcement training to help me become more confident

- Ideally the only dog at home – I’d do best as the only dog in the home. I can get a bit scared around other dogs and tend to hide, so I’d be happiest in a calm, dog-free environment where I can feel safe and relaxed.

💌SPECIAL NOTES💌

Volunteers and staff always praise how gentle and sweet I am. Before I was rescued, I was in rough shape — most likely neglected and possibly abused by a previous owner. When I arrived at the local shelter, I was dealing with multiple infections and in need of urgent care.

But even after all I’ve been through, I haven’t let my past take away my kind heart. I’m all about peace. While I’m still learning how to socialize with other dogs, I always avoid conflict and prefer to quietly coexist. I’m currently being fostered in a loving home where I’m slowly gaining confidence and learning how to be around other dogs in a safe, supportive environment.

Because of my cautious nature, I need a little extra time to decompress in new surroundings. To keep me safe, I must wear a martingale collar and a double-leashed harness at all times, and it's recommended that I also wear a GPS or location tracker to prevent any chance of becoming a flight risk.

With patience, love, and the right guidance, I know I’ll continue to blossom into the amazing companion I’m meant to be.
