🐕 MY RESCUE STORY🐕

Hi there! My name is Carrot. I was found in a life-or-death situation after being hit by a car and sadly left without help for some time. Thankfully, some kind rescuers spotted me and rushed me to the hospital where I got the care I desperately needed. While I still limp a little from the accident, I’m otherwise healthy and full of love. Now, I’m patiently waiting to meet my forever family who will cherish me just as I am.

💊 MY HEALTH🏥

  • Fully vaccinated (5-round series complete)
  • I’ve been spayed and have no known health issues.

🐕 MY PERSONALITY🐕

Isn’t my name just the cutest? I was named Carrot because of my beautiful, luxurious orange-brown fur that shines like sunshine! I absolutely adore people and love making new doggy friends too. Honestly, I’m so adorable that photos and videos just can’t capture how much charm and sweetness I have in person!

🐕 MY SOCIAL SKILLS🐕

With People: I’m a total social butterfly who loves meeting new people and soaking up all the pets and affection! I’m always flashing my adorable smiling face — it’s hard not to fall in love with me at first sight. You can easily pick me up, though I should warn you, I’m a bit heavier than I look! I’m super gentle and don’t guard my food around people, so sharing and kindness are definitely part of my charm.

With Dogs:  I’m a social butterfly with dogs too! I get along wonderfully with pups of all sizes and never guard my food around them. Playtime with my furry friends is one of my absolute favorite things — there’s nothing better than having fun and making new buddies!

With Cats:  I haven’t met any cats yet, but with a slow and thoughtful introduction, I think I could learn to live peacefully with a feline friend.

🔋 ENERGY AND ACTIVITIES 🎲

I have a nice, balanced energy level — I love spending time outdoors exploring new sights and smells, but I’m just as happy snuggling up at home and being a cozy couch companion. Whether we’re adventuring or relaxing, I’m happiest by your side.

🎲TRAINING & HABITS⭐

I’m quite the seasoned walker! I follow my handler’s lead nicely and, while I might get a little excited and pull when something catches my eye, I generally keep a steady pace that matches my person. Walks are one of my favorite ways to explore the world! I’m very quiet and I only bark when I really want something. I also prefer to do my potty business outdoors, just like a well-mannered pup.

🏠 MY IDEAL HOME 💕

I’m looking for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:

  • A family that offers a safe, structured, and calm environment.
  • A family that enjoys spending quality time together indoors & outdoors.
  • A family that can shower me with love and attention.
  • Ideally home with another dog sibling – but not an absolute requirement.

💌SPECIAL NOTES💌

Volunteers and staff say I carry many classic Shiba traits. I can be a little stubborn sometimes and have a bit of a cat-like attitude, but I’m also very friendly and gentle. I’m quite smart too, and I’ve been praised a lot for my intelligence here at the shelter. I love bonding with people and pick up commands quickly — tug-of-war is one of my favorite games to play with my humans!

I do limp slightly from an old accident, but it’s barely noticeable and doesn’t affect my ability to live a full, happy life. I know how to rest quietly in my kennel, though I’m still learning to like it again after having to stay there during my hospital recovery. With some patience and guidance, I’m sure I’ll get there! I have a big appetite, but honestly, what I really love most is just being close to people and soaking up their company.
