🐕 MY RESCUE STORY🐕

Hi there! My name is Tory. I was rescued from a city pound just in time, after being placed on the euthanasia list. I’m not sure how I ended up alone, but kind rescuers gave me a second chance. The first stop after my rescue wasn’t the right fit, so I moved to my current shelter — and now I’m ready to find my forever family. Despite my rough start, I haven’t lost my gentle heart. I know there’s someone out there who’ll love me for the sweet, loyal pup I am. Could that be you?

• I’ve been spayed and have no known health issues.

 

🐕 MY PERSONALITY 🐕

I’m a little shy at first, but I warm up quickly once I feel safe. Volunteers and staff always say I’m quiet, well-behaved, and easy to care for. I have a chill, gentle personality and get along great with other dogs. Plus, I’ve got that irresistible dachshund charm — one look and you’ll fall in love!

 

🐕 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐕

With People: I’m a little shy at first, but offer me a few treats and I’ll warm up in no time — I take them gently from your hand! I’m small, sweet, and don’t mind being picked up. With time, I’ll happily be your cuddle buddy. I haven’t met many young kids yet, but with slow, respectful greetings, I think we’ll get along just fine. I also don’t guard my food around people.

 

With Dogs:  I’m great with other dogs and love making new friends! Playtime is one of my favorite things, especially with pups around my size or a bit smaller. I’m easygoing when it comes to sharing space — I don’t guard my food around other dogs and enjoy a peaceful mealtime together.

 

With Cats:  I haven’t met any cats yet, but with a slow and thoughtful introduction, I think I could learn to live peacefully with a feline friend.

 

🔋 ENERGY AND ACTIVITIES 🎲

I have a nice, balanced energy level — I love spending time outdoors exploring new sights and smells, but I’m just as happy snuggling up at home and being a cozy couch companion. 

 

🎲 TRAINING & HABITS ⭐

I follow my handler well on leash, though I can get a little excited and pull when something catches my eye. With a bit more guidance, I’ll be a great walking buddy! I’m not much of a barker and know how to rest quietly in my kennel. I also prefer doing my potty business outdoors like a well-mannered pup.

I’m looking for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:

• A family that offers a safe, structured, and calm environment.
• A family that enjoys spending quality time together indoors & outdoors.
• A family that can shower me with love and attention.
• Ideally home with another dog sibling – but not an absolute requirement.
