🐕 MY RESCUE STORY🐕

Hi there! I’m Ahjang. I was rescued from an illegal puppy mill, and though I was born missing the lower part of my bottom jaw, I don’t let that slow me down one bit. I live life to the fullest, full of curiosity, love, and joy—and I’m ready to find a forever family who will adore me just as I am!

💊 MY HEALTH🏥

  • Fully vaccinated (5-round series complete)
  • I’ve been spayed and have no known health issues.

🐕 MY PERSONALITY🐕

I’m a little shy and timid when we first meet, but don’t let that fool you! Beneath my gentle shyness, I have the sweetest, most affectionate side waiting to shine. Once I feel comfortable, I’ll happily seek your cuddles, follow you around, and show you just how loving I can be.

🐕 MY SOCIAL SKILLS🐕

With People: I’m a little shy when we first meet, but I’m gentle and sweet! I’ll take treats softly from your hand, and with just a bit of time, I’ll happily let you pet me. I don’t have much experience with kids yet, but I’m open to gentle interactions. You can pick me up once I feel comfortable, though at first I may explore and run around a bit as I settle into my new home. I just need some space and patience to feel safe. I don’t guard my food against people, so I’m easygoing and ready to make friends!

With Dogs:  I like meeting new dog friends, but once I’ve said hello, I usually like to do my own thing. I get along best with dogs my size, as big dogs can feel a little intimidating at first. If another dog is pushy or rude, I’m not afraid to stand my ground, so slow, thoughtful, and supervised introductions are important when meeting new friends. I can be a little sensitive with my food when other dogs are nearby and will growl to let them know I need my space. For meal times, it’s best to feed me separately so I can feel comfortable and relaxed.

With Cats:  I haven’t met any cats yet, but with a slow and thoughtful introduction, I think I could learn to live peacefully with a feline friend.

🔋 ENERGY AND ACTIVITIES 🎲

I have a moderate energy level—enough to enjoy playful adventures outdoors, sniffing and exploring, but afterward, I love to curl up and snuggle indoors, resting peacefully by your side.

🎲TRAINING & HABITS

I walk nicely on leash and usually follow my handler’s lead, though I love to take my time for lots of sniff inspections along the way—there’s so much to explore! I’m generally a quiet companion, but I’ll bark to let you know when I want attention, especially around meal times or walks—I like to make sure my voice is heard! Car rides can be a little scary for me, so being held in your arms helps me feel safe and secure. I prefer doing my business outdoors and enjoy keeping my surroundings tidy.

🏠 MY IDEAL HOME 💕

I’m looking for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:

  • A family that offers a safe, structured, and calm environment.
  • A family that enjoys spending quality time together indoors & outdoors.
  • A family that can shower me with love and attention.
  • Understanding of my neglected, abused past and willing to guide me with patience so I can learn to overcome my fears.
  • Ideally the only dog in the family, or a calm and confident dog sibling who will respect my space.
  • Understanding of my love for food and willing to train me with love and patience so I learn to be more patient around other dogs during meal times.

💌SPECIAL NOTES💌

I’m a very special girl, and I’m ready to meet my forever family! My past has made me a little shy, but once I feel safe, I’ll become your loyal shadow and constant companion. I may hide or run when I’m scared, so it’s very important to always double-leash me with a harness and collar whenever I’m outside, and to keep me in an enclosed space if I’m off-leash. Even though I’m timid, I’m gentle and not reactive—I just need patience, love, and understanding to help me bloom into the confident, loving girl I’m meant to be.
