🐾 MY RESCUE STORY 🐾
I was rescued from a city shelter in Gurye, Korea, where I was on the euthanasia list. Thanks to rescuers, I was given a second chance at life. I’m still young and learning, and I’m now looking for a patient family who can help me grow into a confident and happy companion.
💖 MY PERSONALITY 💖
My name is Mary. I’m a gentle, sensitive girl who may seem shy at first, especially with new people. Treats help me feel safe, and once I start to trust you, I allow gentle handling and enjoy being petted. When I’m held and cuddled, I relax and lean into my person for comfort. I’m still young and learning about the world, and with patience and kindness, my sweet and affectionate personality really comes through.
🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶
• With People: I can be shy around unfamiliar people and prefer to take things slowly. I’ll accept treats right away, but I feel most comfortable being touched once trust is built. I can be picked up and held gently. I have not yet met children under 13.
• With Dogs: I’m very social with other dogs and will happily approach both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite them to play. I’m most comfortable with dogs similar to my size and tend to avoid conflict, even if another dog provokes me.
• With Cats: I have not yet been tested with cats. (A cat test can be conducted upon request to ensure the best fit.)
⚡️ ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY ⚡️
I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring, but after activity, I settle down calmly and rest well. Since I’m still young and have limited walking experience, I may lie down or freeze when I encounter something unfamiliar or scary on walks. With positive reinforcement and consistent training, I’ll gain confidence over time.
🧠 TRAINING & HABITS 🧠
I’m still learning my routines and will benefit from continued leash and potty training. I do not guard food from people or other dogs. I rarely bark, stay calm in a kennel, and usually prefer to potty outdoors. With gentle guidance and consistency, I’m expected to make steady progress in a home environment.
🏡 MY IDEAL HOME 🏡
I’m looking for a patient and understanding family who can help me build confidence at my own pace. I would thrive in a home with:
• A calm household that respects my sensitive nature
• Adopters who are patient and willing to go slowly
• Consistent routines to help me feel secure
• Experience with shy or young dogs, or a willingness to learn
💌 SPECIAL NOTES 💌
I may need extra time, patience, and structure to fully adjust to a new environment. I can be shy and cautious at first, but once trust is established, I become affectionate and rely on my humans for comfort. With continued training, reassurance, and a supportive home, I have strong potential to grow into a confident, loving companion.
