Adoption Process
Step 1: Application
Fill out our adoption application form.
Step 2: Interview
Participate in a phone or video interview.
Step 3: Home Verification
We will request photos of your home to ensure a good fit.
Step 4: Adoption Day
Meet your new family member at the airport or foster home! Our volunteers will be there to help ensure a smooth transition.
Step 5: Share Your Story!
Let us know how your adopted dog is doing! We love updates and happy endings.
Adoption Fees
The Welcome Dog Korea adoption fee does not cover the full cost of rescue and care.
It is a minimum responsibility fee that helps support the adoption process for rescued dogs.
Our rescue prepares every dog with extensive medical care and preparation before travel to ensure they arrive healthy and ready for their new homes.
Medical Care Provided Before Adoption
Every Welcome Dog Korea rescue dog receives:
Full Vaccination Series
- DHPPL
- Coronavirus
- Influenza
- Kennel Cough (Bordetella)
- Rabies
Puppies receive 3–4 rounds of vaccinations before travel.
Health Testing Before Travel
- Blood test
- 4DX test (heartworm & tick-borne diseases)
- Giardia test
If any abnormal results are found, PCR testing is performed for further diagnosis.
Spay or Neuter Surgery
All dogs are spayed or neutered before adoption.
Dental Care Before Departure
- Dental scaling performed before travel
- Tooth extractions if necessary
- Before-and-after dental photos provided
Medication & Preventative Care
Travel Medication Kit
Each dog travels with 1 week of medication, including:
- —Cough medication
- —Diarrhea medication
(Can be safely stored for up to 6 months.)
Flea, Tick & Heartworm Prevention
All foster families and adopters receive:
- —3 months of NexGard Spectra
- —Covers both internal and external parasites
Parasite Prevention
- —Deworming medication given before departure
- —Additional dewormer provided to give 2 months later
Safety & Equipment Provided
Each dog is sent with essential safety equipment:

Microchip Identification
Premium Martingale Collar & Leash Set
Martingale collars are the safest option to prevent dogs from escaping during walks, especially during the adjustment period.
