🐾 MY RESCUE STORY 🐾
My mother was a stray who gave birth to me and my siblings at a factory. The factory workers did their best to care for our little family and make sure we were safe.
When the factory eventually closed down, there was no one left to care for us, so we were brought to the care facility. Now that I'm safe and growing up surrounded by love and care, I'm ready to find a forever family of my very own and start the next chapter of my life.
🩺 MY HEALTH 🩺
💖 MY PERSONALITY 💖
I'm a sweet and affectionate boy with a gentle nature. I already know basic commands like paw, sit, and wait, and I'm always happy to show off my skills for treats! I enjoy being brushed and love spending time with the people I've built trust with.
One of my favorite things is going for walks. Back when I lived at the factory, I enjoyed about two hours of walks each day, and I still love getting outside to explore and stretch my legs.
Because I had more limited exposure to the world while growing up, I can need a little time to adjust to new environments and would benefit from continued socialization. The good news is that I'm improving every day and love receiving attention, praise, and treats from the staff and volunteers who care for me.
I'm an overall calm and sweet boy, but I can be startled in unfamiliar environments and may have a tendency to bolt if frightened. Because of this, extra care should be taken during transportation and while I'm settling into a new home. With patience, consistency, and guidance, I'll continue to gain confidence and show just how wonderful I am.
🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶
· With People: While I'm initially a little shy when meeting new people, I warm up quickly once I feel comfortable. Food is definitely one of the fastest ways to my heart, and I'll become your best friend pretty quickly once I discover you have treats!
As I gain confidence, my affectionate side starts to shine. I allow myself to be picked up and enjoy showing my belly once I feel safe and relaxed. With a little patience in the beginning, you'll discover a sweet boy who loves attention, affection, and spending time with his people.
· With Dogs: I generally get along well with dogs of a similar size and enjoy meeting new dog friends. I'm polite when greeting other dogs, but I don't usually jump straight into playtime. Instead, I prefer to take my time getting to know them and often enjoy doing my own thing.
Once I find a dog I click with, especially one with a similar energy level, I can enjoy playing and spending time together. I can be a little jealous when other dogs receive attention and affection, so I would do best as the only dog in my forever home where I can soak up all the love for myself.
· With Cats: During walks, I can get excited when I spot cats and may try to chase them. Because of this, I would do best in a home without cats or other small animals.
A cat test can be arranged upon request to help ensure the best match, but based on my current behavior, a cat-free home would likely be the most suitable environment for me.
⚡️ ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY ⚡️
I have a moderate to higher energy level and enjoy spending my time outdoors exploring, going for walks, and having fun. I love being active and taking in the world around me, but I'm not constantly on the go.
Once I've had a chance to burn off some energy and satisfy my curiosity, I'm more than happy to settle down indoors and relax. I have a nice balance of playful energy and calm downtime, making me a great fit for a family that enjoys both adventures and cozy time at home.
🧠 TRAINING & HABITS 🧠
I can pull on the leash at times, especially when I'm excited or have my sights set on somewhere I'd like to explore, but overall I walk well and follow my handler's lead nicely. I have lots of walking experience from my time living at the factory and enjoy getting out for daily adventures.
I don't guard my food from people, though I can be a little sensitive when other dogs are nearby during mealtimes. I was especially protective when my brother Bokdol tried to steal my food, but I'm generally much more relaxed around other dogs.
I'm a quiet boy who rarely barks and I know how to rest calmly in my kennel, although I'm still learning to go into the kennel on cue. Car rides can be scary for me, so I'll need patience and encouragement as I continue building positive experiences.
For potty habits, I prefer to go outdoors. I may also do a little marking when adjusting to a new environment, but with a consistent routine and time to settle in, this typically improves.
🏡 MY IDEAL HOME 🏡
I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:
• A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment
• A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout
• A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together
• A family that will love and cherish me forever
• Ideally the only dog at home as I can get a bit jealous of other dogs
• A family that is patient and committed to continuing my socialization, helping me build confidence and navigate new experiences at my own pace
💌 SPECIAL NOTES 💌
Overall, I'm a sweet boy with a wonderful balance of energy. I enjoy walks, exploring, and spending time with people, but I also know how to relax and enjoy the quieter moments in life.
Because most of my life was spent at the factory, I haven't had as much exposure to the world as some other dogs. New environments can feel a little overwhelming at first, so I'll need some time and patience while I adjust and build confidence. The good news is that I'm naturally curious about people and enjoy meeting new friends. A few tasty treats will win me over very quickly!
I'm also incredibly adorable, if I do say so myself. My cute little Dorito ears, black whiskers, and sweet expression help me stand out wherever I go. Once you meet me in person, it's hard not to fall in love.
I would do best with a family that understands I may need a little extra time to settle into a new environment and is willing to support me as I continue learning about the world. Because I can get excited and may try to bolt if I spot something interesting, double-leashing me to both a collar and harness is an absolute must to keep me safe.
With patience, understanding, and a little time to adjust, I know I'll blossom into a loyal, loving, and wonderful family member.
