🐾 MY RESCUE STORY 🐾
I came from a cattle shed, where I had been living neglected without the care and security I needed. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in and brought me to safety, giving me the chance to experience kindness and proper care. Now, I’m leaving that difficult chapter behind and looking forward to a brighter future with a loving forever family.

💖 MY PERSONALITY 💖
Hi, I’m Pogni! I’m a quiet, gentle dog who can be quite shy when I first find myself around unfamiliar people or in a new environment. When I first met my rescuers, I spent about an hour keeping my distance and trying to move away. But that cautious first impression isn’t the whole story. If you approach me slowly, give me space, and let me decide when I’m ready, I can open my heart surprisingly quickly. Once I feel safe with someone, I’m sweet, cooperative, and much more affectionate than my shy beginning might suggest. I actually enjoy being touched and receiving gentle affection from people once we’ve built some trust. Treats certainly help too—I’m food-motivated, so sharing a few tasty snacks is a great way to convince me that becoming friends might be a pretty good idea!
I also have some pretty memorable looks to go along with my personality. The lighter fur around my eyes makes it look a little like I’m wearing glasses, and my rescuers say there’s something adorably raccoon-like about my face. One of my cutest moments is when I come running toward someone with my ears flapping as I go—a very different picture from the cautious dog you might meet during that first hour!
Approach softly, bring a few treats, and let me come to you—and before long, you may have a sweet companion enjoying your touch and trotting happily toward you with those floppy ears bouncing along the way. For someone willing to be careful and patient during my initial adjustment, watching me choose to trust could be one of the most rewarding parts of bringing me home.
🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶
· With People: I can be a little shy when I first meet someone, but I’ll happily accept treats as we get to know each other. I prefer to take a little more time to build trust before I’m comfortable being petted, and once I feel at ease, I’m also comfortable being gently picked up with an arm supporting me under my belly. I haven’t had experience with children under 13 yet, so my comfort level with younger kids is still unknown.
· With Dogs: I’m comfortable approaching dog friends to say hello, but I generally don’t show much interest in interacting beyond a friendly greeting. I’m not particularly interested in playing with other dogs and tend to be content simply doing my own thing around them.
· With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown
⚡️ ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY ⚡️
I have a moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I’m also happy to settle down and relax afterward.
I have plenty of walking experience and good leash manners, following my person well without pulling. I especially enjoy taking in all the interesting smells along the way, so my walks often include plenty of stops for sniffing and exploring.
🧠 TRAINING & HABITS 🧠
I’m comfortable with people around my food and don’t show any food guarding toward them, but I may growl if another dog approaches while I’m eating, so giving me my own space at mealtimes is best.
When there’s something I really want, I may use a little demand barking to let you know.
I’m calm and settled in a kennel
I’m comfortable using both indoor pee pads and going potty outdoors.
🏡 MY IDEAL HOME 🏡
