🐾 MY RESCUE STORY 🐾
I was rescued from a city pound where I had sadly been placed on the euthanasia list. Through no fault of my own, I was running out of time and my future was uncertain. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in just in time and gave me the second chance I desperately needed.
Those scary days are behind me now, and I’m ready to look toward a much brighter future. All I’m missing is a forever family who will cherish me, keep me safe, and love me as a true member of the family for the rest of my life.
🩺 MY HEALTH 🩺
💖 MY PERSONALITY 💖
I have that classic Chihuahua personality packed into one tiny, adorable package! I’m confident, clever, and definitely know how to stand my ground when I need to. If another dog is being a little too pushy, I’m not afraid to give a small bark to remind them that I’m here and that I have boundaries too.
I’m also a very smart girl who picks up commands quickly. I already know how to sit, wait, and even give kisses on command! I might seem a little shy when you first see me, but don’t be fooled. As soon as I realize you want to be my friend, I’ll happily run right up to you, roll over, show you my belly, and ask for all the pets and affection you’re willing to give.
I’m a tiny girl with a big personality, plenty of confidence, and an incredibly affectionate side. Add in my intelligence, adorable looks, and undeniable Chihuahua charm, and I’m pretty hard to resist!
🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶
· With People: I’m super friendly and love meeting new people! I happily greet everyone I meet and am always excited to receive plenty of pets and affection. I’m so comfortable with people that I’ll often roll over and show you my belly, even when we’ve only just met.
I’m also comfortable being picked up and held, and I’m happy to be gently handled for grooming. With my trusting nature and affectionate personality, it doesn’t take long for me to make new friends wherever I go.
· With Dogs: I like greeting new dogs and am happy to make new canine friends, but I don’t usually jump straight into play. I prefer taking things at my own pace and am often perfectly content doing my own thing.
For reasons that remain a bit of a mystery to the staff and volunteers, I’m not particularly fond of Poodles! I may feel uncomfortable around them, so my future family should keep this in mind when introducing me to new dog friends. Otherwise, I’m generally happy to politely greet other dogs while maintaining my own space and independence.
· With Cats: My reaction to cats is currently unknown, but a cat test can be arranged upon request to help ensure the best match for my future home. During walks, I sometimes notice cats and watch them with curiosity, but I quickly lose interest and happily continue on my way.
⚡️ ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY ⚡️
I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.
🧠 TRAINING & HABITS 🧠
I walk well on leash and follow my handler’s lead nicely, making me an enjoyable little walking companion. I have good manners around food with people and don’t guard my meals or treats, although I can be a little more sensitive when other dogs are nearby while I’m eating. Giving me my own comfortable space during mealtimes will help me feel secure.
I may occasionally bark when I have something to say, but I settle down quickly and am generally easy to redirect. I also know how to settle and rest calmly in my kennel. For potty habits, I currently go both indoors using pee pads and outdoors. With my smarts and eagerness to learn, I have a great foundation to continue building on in my forever home.
🏡 MY IDEAL HOME 🏡
I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:
• A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment
• A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout
• A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together
• A family that will love and cherish me forever
💌 SPECIAL NOTES 💌
I may be tiny, but I’m an incredibly smart girl with a big personality! I pick up new commands quickly and already know how to sit, wait, and even give kisses on command. I’m attentive, expressive, and quick to figure out what’s being asked of me, especially when there’s a little praise and affection involved. With consistent positive training, I have so much potential to keep learning even more with my forever family.
I’m also confident enough to communicate my boundaries when I need to, while still being an affectionate little girl who loves rolling over for belly rubs, being held, and spending time with people. I’m a wonderful combination of clever, confident, and cuddly.
Since I’m such a small girl, my future family will need to be extra mindful around doors, gates, and any small openings I could potentially slip through. Keeping entrances secure and watching carefully when doors are opened will help keep me safe, especially while I’m adjusting to my new home.
With my intelligence, adorable personality, and eagerness to connect with people, I’m ready to impress my forever family with just how much personality and love can fit into such a tiny package.
