🐾 MY RESCUE STORY 🐾
I was originally purchased from a pet shop by an older couple, but when they couldn’t agree on keeping me, I was eventually surrendered to a rescue shelter. Although my first home didn’t work out as hoped, coming into rescue gave me another chance to find a family ready to welcome me wholeheartedly. Now, I’m looking forward to a fresh start and a loving forever home where I can truly settle in and belong.

Hi, I’m Yuja! I’m a beautiful Bichon that is petite, pretty, and wonderfully people-oriented—and I seem to know exactly where I belong: right beside my humans!
I absolutely love people, and I’m not particularly picky about who gets my affection. Men, women, familiar faces, complete strangers—it doesn’t take much convincing for me to happily run over and say hello. If you sit down, I may take that as my invitation to come straight over, climb onto your lap, and make myself comfortable. Being close to people simply makes me happy. Other dogs, on the other hand, aren’t nearly as fascinating to me. I don’t have an issue with them; I’m simply much more interested in human companionship than making canine friends. Because of that, I could be especially well suited to life as an only dog, where I can enjoy plenty of one-on-one attention from my family.
I’m also already a lovely walking companion and do well on my walks. So far, my rescuers haven’t really heard me bark either, making me a remarkably quiet little girl. Between my affectionate nature, easygoing personality, and love of people, my rescuers jokingly describe me as a “10 out of 10” kind of dog.
I’d love a family who is looking for a devoted little companion rather than a dog who needs a busy social life. Give me a safe home, a comfortable lap, walks together, and plenty of time by your side, and I’ll be very happy making myself part of your everyday routine. I may be tiny, but when it comes to loving people, I have more than enough heart to fill a whole home.
🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶
· With People: I’m naturally friendly and affectionate with people, and I’m happy to approach both familiar faces and new people for attention. I enjoy leaning in for affection and am comfortable being petted—even with someone I’ve just met, I may happily roll over and show my belly! I’m also comfortable being gently picked up with an arm supporting me under my belly. I haven’t had experience with children under 13 yet, so my comfort level with younger kids is still unknown.
· With Dogs: I’m comfortable approaching unfamiliar dogs to say hello, but I generally don’t show much interest in interacting or playing beyond a friendly greeting. I tend to prefer doing my own thing around other dogs and can feel a little overwhelmed by dogs with very high energy, so I’m most comfortable around calmer friends.
· With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown but when I see a cat while out on a walk, I may watch with curiosity and try to follow or chase after it, but I can be redirected and will follow along when my person guides me away.

I have a moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I’m also happy to settle down and relax afterward.
I have plenty of walking experience and good leash manners, following my person well without pulling.

I’m calm and settled when I’m in a kennel
I’m comfortable using both indoor pee pads and going potty outdoors.
