🐾 MY RESCUE STORY 🐾
I was rescued from a city shelter after being placed at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in and brought me to safety, giving me a second chance and the care I needed to move forward. Now, I’m looking ahead to a brighter new chapter and hoping to find a loving forever family to share it with.
🩺 MY HEALTH 🩺
💖 MY PERSONALITY 💖
Hi, I’m Yuchae! I’m an affectionate, cheerful girl who absolutely loves people. I don’t need much time to decide that a new person might be my new best friend—even when we’ve just met, I may roll right over, show my belly, and start asking for affection. Human touch is one of my favorite things, and I’m happiest when someone is giving me plenty of love and attention.
I’d thrive with a family who wants an affectionate, energetic companion and is willing to put some time into continuing my education. When it comes to people, my heart is already wide open; when it comes to canine etiquette, I’m still a student! With structure, activity, patient guidance, and lots of affection, I have every opportunity to channel my enthusiasm into becoming a wonderful family companion.
🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶
· With People: I’m naturally friendly and affectionate with people, and I’m happy to approach both familiar faces and new people for attention. I enjoy leaning in for affection and am comfortable being petted—even with someone I’ve just met, I may happily roll over and show my belly! I’m also comfortable being gently picked up with an arm supporting me under my belly. I haven’t had experience with children under 13 yet, so my comfort level with younger kids is still unknown.
· With Dogs: I’m comfortable approaching unfamiliar dogs to say hello, but I generally don’t show much interest in interacting or playing beyond a friendly greeting. I tend to prefer doing my own thing around other dogs. If another dog challenges or provokes me, I may respond rather than back away, so calm and careful introductions are important when I’m meeting a new dog for the first time.
· With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown but when I see a cat while out on a walk, I may stop and watch with curiosity, but I’m easy to redirect and will follow along when my person guides me away.
⚡️ ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY ⚡️
I have a moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I’m also happy to settle down and relax afterward.
I may pull on the leash at times, but overall, I follow my person well and respond to their guidance on walks.
🧠 TRAINING & HABITS 🧠
I don’t guard my food around people or other dogs
I’m calm and settled when I’m in a kennel.
When there’s something I really want, I may use a little demand barking to let you know. I may also give a few brief barks when I see someone unfamiliar, but I don’t tend to keep barking for long.
I’m comfortable using both indoor pee pads and going potty outdoors.
🏡 MY IDEAL HOME 🏡
I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:
💌 SPECIAL NOTES 💌
My biggest learning area right now is how to socialize appropriately with other dogs. I haven’t had enough experience to fully understand how dogs are supposed to play and communicate with one another. Sometimes I can approach other dogs—particularly smaller ones—without the best manners. And if another dog challenges or provokes me, I may respond rather than walking away. I’ll benefit from thoughtful introductions, supervision, and continued training that teaches me how to interact more calmly and respectfully with dog friends. That doesn’t mean I can’t learn to enjoy appropriate dog interactions. I’m still discovering how the world works, and what I need most is guidance rather than being expected to already know all the rules. Giving me positive, controlled opportunities to practice good canine manners will help me develop better social skills and make smarter choices around other dogs.
