🐾 MY RESCUE STORY 🐾

I was rescued from a city shelter after being placed at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in and brought me to safety, giving me a second chance and the care I needed to move forward. Now, I’m looking ahead to a brighter new chapter and hoping to find a loving forever family to share it with.

💖 MY PERSONALITY 💖

Hi, I’m Hwarang! I’m a calm, gentle boy with beautiful brown eyes, a wonderfully full tail, and the kind of quiet charm that seems to make people smile just by looking at me. My rescuers describe me as a true gentleman—and even a “10 out of 10” kind of dog. I’m not the type who needs to be the center of attention; there’s something naturally composed and sweet about the way I carry myself.

I really like people, although I don’t necessarily rush straight into everyone’s arms the moment we meet. I prefer to watch for a little while and take things in first. Once I’m comfortable, my affectionate side comes out and I’m happy to show you just how sweet I can be. It’s a quieter kind of affection that suits my gentle personality perfectly.

I’m also very intelligent. I picked up both “sit” and “wait” almost immediately, showing how quickly I can understand what people are asking of me. My calm focus and willingness to listen should give my future family a wonderful foundation for continuing my training and helping me adjust to their everyday routine.

I’d love a family who appreciates a dog whose appeal isn’t about being the loudest, busiest, or most demanding one in the room. I’m a handsome, thoughtful gentleman who likes people, walks beautifully, learns quickly, and would rather avoid canine drama than participate in it. My rescuers say that looking at me naturally makes them smile—and they have a feeling that the family lucky enough to bring me home may find themselves smiling a whole lot more, too.

 

🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶

· With People: I’m naturally friendly and affectionate with people, and I’m happy to approach both familiar faces and new people for attention. I enjoy leaning in for affection and am comfortable being petted, even by someone I’ve just met. I’m also comfortable being gently picked up with an arm supporting me under my belly. I haven’t had experience with children under 13 yet, so my comfort level with younger kids is still unknown.

· With Dogs: I’m comfortable approaching unfamiliar dogs to say hello, but I generally don’t show much interest in interacting or playing beyond a friendly greeting. I tend to prefer doing my own thing around other dogs, and if another dog tries to provoke me, I usually choose to move away and avoid conflict.

· With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown

I have a moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I’m also happy to settle down and relax afterward.

I have plenty of walking experience and good leash manners, following my person well without pulling.

I don’t guard my food around people or other dogs

I rarely bark.

I’m calm and settled when I’m in a kennel

I’m comfortable using both indoor pee pads and going potty outdoors.
