🐾 MY RESCUE STORY 🐾
I was rescued from a city shelter when I was at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in and brought me to safety, giving me a second chance and a new beginning filled with care and kindness. Now, I’m ready to leave that uncertain chapter behind and look forward to finding a loving forever family to call my own.
🩺 MY HEALTH 🩺
💖 MY PERSONALITY 💖
Hi, I’m Doraemon! I’m an incredibly gentle dog with floppy ears, a sweet round face, and a look that reminds people of a Retriever when they meet me in person. I’m still very much a puppy, but instead of being a wild little whirlwind, I tend to be quiet and calm. Underneath my cautious exterior, I’m also a pup who genuinely likes people—I just need some time before I’m brave enough to show it.
When something feels unfamiliar, my first instinct may be to retreat to a corner or stay close to someone who makes me feel secure. I can be quite timid around new people, but I’m remarkably gentle even when I’m nervous. If someone unfamiliar approaches to pet or pick me up, I tend to accept the interaction fairly quickly rather than resisting. And there’s one particularly effective way to get on my good side: treats! Even when I’m feeling shy, my love of snacks often wins out, making food a wonderful tool for helping me form positive associations with new people and experiences.
I may initially be the puppy trying to tuck himself safely into a corner, but there’s a sweet, people-loving boy underneath all that uncertainty. I’d especially love a family with a kind dog companion I can look to for reassurance, although what matters most is having humans who understand that confidence takes time. Give me that little bit of patience, and eventually I hope I’ll be following you instead of hiding—ready for treats, affection, and all those happy walks we’re still learning how to enjoy together.
🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶
· With People: I can be a little shy when I first meet someone, but treats are a great way to help me warm up and get to know you. I may need a little extra time before I’m fully comfortable being petted, but once I feel safe and familiar with you, I’m happy to accept gentle affection. I’m also comfortable being gently picked up with an arm supporting me under my belly. I haven’t had experience with children under 13 yet, so my comfort level with younger kids is still unknown.
· With Dogs: I’m comfortable approaching unfamiliar dogs to say hello and generally do well with dogs around my own size, though I’m not particularly interested in playing or interacting beyond a friendly greeting. I tend to be easygoing and prefer doing my own thing, and if another dog tries to provoke me, I usually choose to move away and avoid conflict.
· With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown
⚡️ ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY ⚡️
I have a moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I’m also happy to settle down and relax afterward.
I do well on walks in quieter areas and generally follow my person, though I may pull on the leash at times. Busy roads with lots of traffic can make me nervous, so calmer walking routes and gentle, gradual exposure will help me feel more comfortable and confident over time.
🧠 TRAINING & HABITS 🧠
I don’t guard my food around people or other dogs
I rarely bark.
I’m calm and settled when I’m in a kennel
I’m accustomed to doing my business outdoors, so I generally prefer outdoor potty breaks.
🏡 MY IDEAL HOME 🏡
I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:
💌 SPECIAL NOTES 💌
Other dogs can be a huge source of confidence for me. Because canine companionship seems to help me feel secure, I may especially enjoy a home with a calm, friendly, well-adjusted dog who can show me that everyday life isn’t so scary. The right match is important—I need a gentle companion who helps build my confidence rather than overwhelming me.
I’ll need secure management, patience, slow introductions, and a family who won’t push me before I’m ready. Giving me time to observe, using treats to build positive associations, and allowing my confidence to develop naturally will give me the best chance to thrive.
