🐾 MY RESCUE STORY 🐾

I spent my days living in a raised wire cage, without the comfort and freedom of a safe home. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in and brought me to safety, giving me the chance to discover kindness, care, and a whole new world beyond that cage. Now, I’m looking forward to my next chapter and finding a loving forever family to share it with.

💖 MY PERSONALITY 💖

Hi, I’m Jumbo! I’m a handsome, composed boy with so many of the qualities people love about Border Collies—the intelligence, attentiveness, and ability to learn—paired with a wonderfully gentle and balanced energy. There’s something naturally thoughtful and well-mannered about me, and my rescuers describe me simply as a true gentleman.

When I first meet someone, I may take a brief moment to observe before deciding everything is okay. It doesn’t take me long, though. Once I’m comfortable, I approach warmly and show the friendly, gentle personality underneath that initial bit of caution. I also have good social skills with other dogs. I can happily interact and play with dog friends. I enjoy companionship, but I’m also perfectly comfortable taking a break when I want one.

For someone who loves the intelligence and connection of a Border Collie but appreciates a dog with a more composed, gentlemanly presence, I could be an especially wonderful match. I’ve already shown that I know how to be someone’s companion; now I just need the opportunity to do it again. Give me a comfortable home, meaningful activity, and people I can trust, and I have a feeling you’ll see even more of the thoughtful, affectionate dog that’s been waiting underneath.

 

🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶

· With People: I can be a little shy when meeting someone new, but treats are a great way to win me over, and it doesn’t take long before I’m comfortable being touched and handled. Once I get to know you, I’ll even roll over and show you my belly—a sweet sign that I’m feeling safe and trusting. I’m comfortable being picked up with an arm supporting me under my belly, though I haven’t had experience meeting children under 13 yet.

· With Dogs: I’m generally friendly with other dogs, especially those around my size or smaller. I’ll politely approach unfamiliar dogs to say hello, although I’m usually more interested in greeting them than playing together. If another dog bothers or provokes me, I tend to avoid conflict.

· With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown

 

⚡️ ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY ⚡️

I have a moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I’m also happy to settle down and relax afterward.

I’m an experienced walker who follows my person well and generally walks nicely without pulling on the leash.

I don’t guard my food from people or other dogs

I’m a quiet companion who rarely barks.

I stay calm and settled in a kennel

I’m comfortable doing my business both outdoors and on indoor pee pads.
