💖 MY PERSONALITY 💖

Hi, I’m Brownie! I’m an incredibly intelligent, sweet, and deeply loyal girl who forms very strong bonds with the people I love.

I can be a little reserved when meeting someone new, and I’m not the type to immediately become best friends with everyone I meet. I need a little patience and time to feel comfortable and build trust. But once you’re one of my people, I love you wholeheartedly.

At home, I’m relaxed and affectionate. I love following my people from room to room and lying nearby so I can be close to them. If I’m invited, I’m also very happy to curl up in bed with you!

I have a fun and playful side too. I love going for walks, running around, exploring outside, and spending time with my family. I’m happiest when I can enjoy both outdoor adventures and quiet time at home with the people I trust.

 

🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶

· With People: I’m incredibly loving and loyal with people I know and trust. With new people, I tend to be more stand-offish at first and need time to warm up. Patience is the key to building a relationship with me.

· With Children: I do well with adults and older children who understand how to respect a dog’s space. Younger children and toddlers can make me unsure, so I would do best in a home with children around 10 years or older, or without children.

· With Dogs: I currently live with another dog, and we learned to coexist after a gradual adjustment period. However, we have had conflicts involving resources, and I’m uncomfortable with unfamiliar dogs entering my home. I may growl or occasionally lunge when another dog comes into my space. Because of this, I would be happiest and most comfortable as the only dog in my future home.

· With Other Animals: I have a strong prey drive and love chasing animals such as squirrels and mice. For this reason, a home without other animals would be the best fit for me.

 

🏡 MY HOME LIFE 🏡

When I’m home with my family, I’m generally very relaxed and easy to have around. I love simply hanging out with my people and will often follow them around before settling down nearby.

I’m not destructive and don’t have a habit of chewing household items. I’m also generally a quiet girl. I may bark when someone comes to the door because I’m naturally alert to what’s happening around my home.

I like keeping an eye on doors and windows and knowing what’s going on around the house. Once everything is calm, though, I’m perfectly happy to relax with my family.

I’m used to having outdoor space and would especially love a home with a securely fenced yard where I can safely enjoy being outside.

 

🌳 MY ACTIVITY & WALKING 🌳

I absolutely love being outdoors! Walks, running, and exploring are some of my favourite things, so I’d love a person or family who enjoys spending plenty of time outside with me.

I also have a strong prey drive. Squirrels, mice, deer, and other wildlife can be very tempting for me to chase. Because of this, I shouldn’t be trusted off-leash in unsecured areas, especially while I’m still developing a relationship with my new family.

Keeping me safely leashed on trails and around wildlife will help make sure our adventures stay fun and safe.

Once we get home, I’m happy to switch gears and enjoy some peaceful downtime with you.

 

💛 MY ANXIETY & WHAT HELPS ME 💛

I can be sensitive to sudden or very loud noises, particularly fireworks, thunderstorms, and smoke alarms. These situations can make me anxious and I sometimes need additional support to help me through them.

I am currently taking 30 mg of fluoxetine daily to help manage my anxiety. During particularly stressful events, such as fireworks around holidays, I have also been given additional anxiety medication as directed for me.

Because of this, my future family should be comfortable supporting a dog with anxiety and committed to continuing appropriate veterinary care and discussing my medication needs with a veterinarian.

What I need most is patience, consistency, and people who understand that I may need a little extra reassurance sometimes.

 

🏠 MY IDEAL HOME 🏠

My ideal home would be a relatively calm household where I can be the only pet and build a close relationship with my people.

I would especially love:

• A home with a securely fenced yard
• Adults or a family with children approximately 10+
• No other dogs, cats, or small animals
• People who enjoy walks and outdoor adventures
• Someone experienced with, or willing to learn about, supporting an anxious dog
• A patient family who will give me time to build trust rather than expecting me to open up immediately

Once that trust is there, you’ll discover just how deeply I love my people.

 

✨ WHY YOU’LL LOVE ME ✨

I’m an intelligent, loyal, sweet girl with an enormous amount of love to give.

I may not show you everything during our first meeting. I need time to decide that you’re someone I can trust. But once I form that bond, I’m incredibly devoted. I’ll follow you around the house, settle beside you while you relax, join you for outdoor adventures, and simply enjoy being wherever you are.

I’m playful when it’s time to have fun and wonderfully relaxed when it’s time to wind down. I’m generally quiet, non-destructive, and happiest simply sharing life with my people.

I do come with some things my future family needs to understand—particularly my anxiety, strong prey drive, and need to be the only pet in the home. But with a patient and understanding family who respects my boundaries and gives me time to settle in, I have so much love and companionship to offer.

I’m looking for someone who won’t rush me, who will let our relationship grow naturally, and who wants a loyal companion to share walks, adventures, quiet evenings, and everyday life with. Once you become my person, you’ll mean the world to me. 🤎
