🐾 MY RESCUE STORY 🐾
I was rescued from a Poodle breeding facility, where my life had been shaped by circumstances beyond my control. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in and brought me to safety, giving me a second chance to experience kindness, comfort, and the care every dog needs. Now, I’m leaving that chapter behind and looking forward to a brighter future filled with love, companionship, and a forever family to call my own.

💖 MY PERSONALITY 💖
Hi, I’m Deulkkae! I’m an adorable little girl with a big personality, a clever mind, and a very clear idea of what makes me happy: being someone’s one and only! I’m a people-oriented girl who knows exactly where I want to be, and that’s usually as close to my favorite human as possible. I may be small, but I have plenty of character, including a slightly sassy side that makes me all the more entertaining.
If you sit down anywhere near me, don’t be surprised if I come running over and climb straight into your lap! I’m wonderfully enthusiastic about human companionship and have a way of making myself right at home in someone’s arms. I pay close attention to people and seem much more interested in what they’re doing than in whatever the other dogs might be up to. I’m happiest when I can enjoy some uninterrupted one-on-one time with my person.
I’m currently sporting a rather short haircut because my coat had become so badly tangled that it needed to be groomed. My rescuers are confident that once my curls grow back, I’ll be an especially beautiful little Poodle. For now, my shorter coat simply makes it easier to see my expressive face and all the personality packed into this tiny body.
After everything I’ve been through, I’m ready for a fresh start where I can enjoy the comfort and stability of a home. My ideal family would appreciate a devoted, people-focused companion while also helping me develop healthy boundaries and independence. I have a little sass, plenty of intelligence, and a wonderfully entertaining personality that’s impossible to overlook. More than anything, I’m hoping to find a home where I can finally be someone’s cherished only dog, with a cozy lap to curl up on and a family who understands just how special I am.
🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶
· With People: I’m naturally friendly and affectionate with people, and I happily approach both familiar faces and new people to say hello and ask for attention. I love leaning in for affection and am comfortable being petted, even by someone I’ve just met. I’m also comfortable being gently picked up with an arm supporting me under my belly. I haven’t had experience with children under 13 yet, so my comfort level with younger kids is still unknown.
· With Dogs: I’m comfortable approaching unfamiliar dogs to say hello, but I generally prefer a friendly greeting rather than engaging in play. If another dog challenges or provokes me, I may respond rather than back away, so calm, careful introductions and close supervision are important when I’m meeting new dogs.
I can also become quite jealous around other dogs, so I would likely be happiest as the only dog in my future home, where I can enjoy having my family’s attention all to myself.
· With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown
⚡️ ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY ⚡️
I have a moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I’m also happy to settle down and relax afterward.
I’m currently working on my leash skills and getting used to going on walks. With continued practice, patience, and consistent guidance, I can gradually become more comfortable and confident on my walks.
🧠 TRAINING & HABITS 🧠
I don’t guard my food around people, but I may growl if another dog approaches while I’m eating, so giving me my own space at mealtimes is best.
My separation anxiety isn’t currently severe, but I may be prone to developing it. Gradually building up my comfort with alone time and maintaining a consistent routine can help me feel more secure and independent.
When there’s something I really want, I may use a little barking to let you know, but with consistent guidance and positive training, I can continue learning calmer ways to communicate.
I’m calm and settled when I’m in a kennel
I’m comfortable using both indoor pee pads and going potty outdoors.
🏡 MY IDEAL HOME 🏡
I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:
💌 SPECIAL NOTES 💌
I may become jealous when I have to share my favorite person. For that reason, I would be happiest as the only dog in my future home. Being an only dog would allow me to enjoy the individual attention I naturally seek without the added stress of competing with other pets. I’m not necessarily looking for a busy household full of furry friends—I’d much rather have a special person or family to call my own.
My strong attachment to people could make me vulnerable to developing separation anxiety. I haven’t necessarily shown that problem, but it will be important to help me build independence from the beginning. Practicing short, positive periods of alone time, establishing predictable routines, and encouraging me to relax comfortably on my own will help me learn that I can feel secure even when my people aren’t right beside me. Fortunately, I absolutely love treats, which should make reward-based training a fun and productive experience for both of us!
