🐾 MY RESCUE STORY 🐾
My story began at the Miryang City Shelter in South Korea, where I was rescued from the risk of euthanasia.
I'm also the proud mama of Pangi, one of the lucky rescue dogs who has already found a loving forever home!
While my baby was given the chance to begin a new chapter with a family of their own, I've been patiently waiting for that same opportunity.
My journey hasn't been easy. I was diagnosed with stage 2 heartworm disease and needed treatment before I could move forward with my adoption journey.
It took time, but I successfully completed my treatment and have since tested negative for heartworm.
Now, I'm finally ready to introduce myself to the world!
Despite everything I've been through, I've remained an incredibly affectionate and cheerful girl who absolutely adores people.
I love making new friends, leaning against people for affection, and showing off my belly whenever I get the chance.
I've already watched my baby find a happy ending. Now, I'm hoping it's finally my turn. 🤎

💖 MY PERSONALITY 💖
Hi, I'm Gahui!
I'm a beautiful Jindo mix with the sweetest smile, adorable little folded ears, a wonderfully fluffy tail, and a soft, round figure that makes me even more lovable.
My rescuers say I'm absolutely gorgeous in person, and my happy smile is one of my most charming features!
But as cute as I am, my personality is what truly makes me special.
I'm an incredibly affectionate, people-loving girl who seems to think everyone I meet is a potential new best friend.
I happily approach both familiar people and strangers, lean my body against them, and soak up all the affection they're willing to give.
Sometimes, I'll even roll over and show my belly to someone I've just met!
I'm also comfortable around men and don't seem particularly nervous when meeting them.
And if you happen to have treats, you'll probably become my favorite person even faster.
I absolutely love food!
My rescuers often say that although I look like a Jindo, my personality reminds them more of a Retriever.
I'm friendly, affectionate, eager to connect with people, and always happy to be included in whatever my humans are doing.
I can also be a little silly sometimes because I don't seem to realize how big I am!
At nearly 40 pounds, I occasionally act like I'm a tiny lap dog who can squeeze into any space.
But that's just part of my charm.
I'm naturally cooperative and eager to please, and I already know how to sit.
I still have plenty to learn, but with my sweet temperament and love of treats, I have a wonderful foundation for becoming an amazing family companion.
I'm a happy, affectionate girl with a beautiful smile and an even more beautiful heart.
🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶
· With People: I absolutely love people! I'm friendly and affectionate with both familiar faces and strangers, and I happily approach new people for attention. I often lean against people, show my belly, and allow them to pet me. I'm also comfortable being picked up with proper support and have shown no particular fear of men.
· With Children: I haven't had experience with children under 13 yet, so my behavior around younger kids is still unknown. Because I'm an affectionate girl who doesn't always realize my own size, supervised introductions and gentle boundaries would be especially important.
· With Dogs: I'm generally neutral around other dogs. I may approach unfamiliar dogs to say hello, but I don't usually initiate play and often prefer to mind my own business. However, if another dog challenges or provokes me, I may respond rather than walk away. Careful introductions and respectful canine companions are important. I can also guard my food from other dogs, so separate feeding arrangements are necessary.
· With Cats: My reaction to cats hasn't been observed yet, so we don't know how I would behave around them. Slow, supervised introductions and appropriate management would be important.
⚡ MY ENERGY LEVEL ⚡
I have a moderate energy level and enjoy a lovely balance of outdoor activity and relaxation.
I like going for walks, exploring new places, and spending time with my favorite people.
Once I've had enough activity, I'm generally happy to settle down and enjoy some quiet time.
I'm not a dog who needs constant excitement, but I do appreciate regular exercise and opportunities to explore.
I'd love a family who enjoys daily walks and spending time together, whether we're outside enjoying the fresh air or relaxing at home.
🦮 MY WALKING SKILLS 🦮
I'm still working on walking politely on a leash.
I sometimes pull when something catches my attention, but overall, I follow my person well.
Because I'm naturally affectionate and eager to be around people, I enjoy having someone beside me as we explore.
With consistent practice, positive reinforcement, and clear guidance, I can continue improving my leash manners.
I'd love a family who will help me develop good walking habits while giving me plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
🏠 MY HOME LIFE & MANNERS 🏠
I already have some lovely habits that could help me adjust to family life.
I know how to sit, and I'm generally cooperative when given guidance.
I'm also calm when placed in a kennel and currently use both indoor pee pads and outdoor potty areas.
One thing my future family should know is that I'm very food motivated.
I don't guard my food from people, but I may growl if another dog approaches while I'm eating.
Because of this, I should be fed separately from other dogs in a quiet, comfortable space where I can enjoy my meals without interruption.
I may also bark when I want something, especially when I'm excited about food or attention.
However, my rescuers noticed that this behavior decreased as I became more comfortable with my surroundings.
I seem to do well with predictable routines and clear expectations.
Another thing to keep in mind is that I may become quite attached to my people.
I don't currently show severe separation anxiety, but my caregivers believe it could develop if I become overly dependent on constant companionship.
For that reason, I'd benefit from gradual alone-time training and a consistent routine that helps me feel secure even when my humans aren't right beside me.
Although I'm naturally sweet and cooperative, I'm still learning the expectations of living in a family home.
With patience, positive reinforcement, and gentle boundaries, I have wonderful potential to become a well-mannered companion.
🌱 WHAT I'M STILL LEARNING 🌱
I'm considered a Level 2 Rescue Dog, which means I may need additional patience, guidance, and time as I adjust to a new home and routine.
Even though I'm extremely friendly and affectionate, there are still important skills I need to develop.
I'm continuing to work on leash manners, polite communication, household routines, and learning how to settle comfortably when my people aren't nearby.
Because I love attention and companionship so much, building independence will be an important part of my adjustment.
My future family can help by introducing short, positive periods of alone time and gradually increasing them as I become more comfortable.
I'll also need consistent boundaries around food and interactions with other dogs.
Although I'm generally peaceful around canine companions, I may defend myself if another dog provokes me, and I can become protective of my food during mealtimes.
Thoughtful introductions, separate feeding spaces, and reward-based training will help keep everyone comfortable.
Thankfully, I'm a very food-motivated girl, which makes treats a wonderful tool for learning.
I already know how to sit, and my rescuers describe me as naturally cooperative and eager to please.
I may still have things to learn, but I have a loving heart and so much potential to become a wonderful family dog.
🏡 MY IDEAL HOME 🏡
My dream home would be filled with love, patience, and people who enjoy having an affectionate dog by their side.
I'm a very social girl who thrives on human companionship, so I'd love a family who enjoys spending quality time together.
Whether we're going for a walk, practicing new tricks, or simply relaxing at home, I'll be happiest knowing I'm part of the family.
Because I can become very attached to my people, I'd benefit from a home that can help me develop confidence and independence through gradual alone-time training.
I'd also appreciate a family who understands that I'm still learning some important manners.
Although I'm naturally gentle and friendly with people, I can be protective of my food around other dogs and may respond if another dog challenges me.
I could potentially live with a calm, compatible canine companion, provided introductions are handled carefully and meals are always managed separately.
A family familiar with rescue dogs and positive reinforcement training would be wonderful, but most importantly, I need people who are willing to be patient and consistent.
I'd love regular walks, a comfortable place to rest, delicious treats, and plenty of affection.
And if you're looking for a dog who will greet you with a beautiful smile and happily roll over for belly rubs, I might just be your girl!
✨ WHY YOU'LL LOVE ME ✨
There are so many things to love about me.
Maybe it'll be my adorable folded ears, fluffy tail, or soft, round figure that catches your attention first.
Or perhaps it'll be my beautiful smile, which my rescuers say is even more charming in person.
But once you meet me, I think you'll fall in love with my personality.
I'm the kind of dog who happily approaches strangers, leans against people for affection, and rolls over to show my belly without hesitation.
My rescuers say that although I look like a Jindo, I have the heart of a Retriever.
I love people, I love treats, and I love being part of whatever is happening around me.
Sometimes I even forget that I'm a fairly big girl and act like I could fit right into someone's lap!
But behind my cheerful personality is a story of resilience.
I was rescued from the risk of euthanasia at a shelter in Miryang.
I'm also a mother.
My baby, Pang, has already found a loving forever home, and I've been waiting patiently for the same opportunity.
My adoption journey took a little longer because I needed treatment for stage 2 heartworm disease.
But I made it through.
My treatment is complete, I've tested negative, and I'm finally ready to find the family I've been waiting for.
I don't need anything extraordinary.
Just people who will love me, a comfortable place to sleep, delicious meals, and someone who will smile back at me every morning.
I've already seen my baby find a family to call their own. Now, after everything I've been through, I'm hoping someone will look at me and say, "It's your turn to come home." 🤎
