🐾 MY RESCUE STORY 🐾

I once had a family of my own. When I was just a young puppy, I was rescued from a city pound by a kind American soldier and given a second chance at life. I was so grateful to be safe and loved. As I grew, my playful, energetic personality turned out to be a little more than they were prepared for. Through no fault of my own, I’m now searching for a forever family who understands my spirit and will embrace me exactly as I am. I have so much love to give and can’t wait to find the right home that will cherish me for a lifetime.

💖 MY PERSONALITY 💖

I’m super duper friendly with everyone I meet! Since I’ve had a home before, I’m comfortable with indoor life and absolutely love receiving affection and pets from anyone willing to give them. When I first arrived at the care facility, I was a little scared and hid in the corner — my world had just changed again. But after about an hour, my curiosity kicked in, and I started exploring and showing my true personality. I really love people and genuinely crave human attention and connection. I’m also a super energetic boy with a big zest for life!

 

🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶

· With People: I’m super friendly and absolutely love receiving pets from everyone I meet! I’ll happily rub my body against you to ask for more affection. I’m truly a people’s pup at heart and thrive on human companionship. Once I feel comfortable, I love to show my belly and soak up all the cuddles, and I allow myself to be picked up too.

I can get a little jealous when other dogs are getting attention—I might gently nudge my way in because I just want all the love for myself! Because of this, I would do best as the only dog in the home, where I can truly soak up all the affection and be your one and only.

· With Dogs: I get along well with my dog friends and enjoy meeting new dogs, especially when it’s time to play. I generally feel most comfortable with dogs of a similar size to me and do well socializing in the right setting. That said, I’m truly a people’s pup at heart — while I’m happy to have dog friends, I enjoy human company even more and love being close to my favorite people.

· With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.

 

⚡️ ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY ⚡️

I have a high energy level, which makes sense since I’m still a young pup — and my retriever side definitely adds an extra spark of enthusiasm! I love being active, exploring, and using both my body and brain. I’ll thrive with plenty of outdoor time, play, and mental stimulation. Once I’ve had a chance to burn off my energy, I’m more than happy to settle down indoors and enjoy some cozy snuggle time with my people.

 

🧠 TRAINING & HABITS 🧠

I can pull on the leash sometimes because I get excited, but overall I walk well and follow my handler’s lead nicely. I don’t guard my food from people or other dogs. I’m generally a quiet boy, though I may whine or bark a little if I’m hoping for some attention.

I’m still learning to rest calmly in my kennel, but I’m improving every day. I know how to get in and out of the car like a smart boy, and I generally prefer to potty outdoors, though I can also use an indoor pee pad when needed.

 

🏡 MY IDEAL HOME 🏡

I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:

• A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment

• A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout

• A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together

• A family that will love and cherish me forever

• Ideally the only dog at home as I can get jealous of other dogs

I’m a sweet, goofy, and energetic boy who absolutely loves people. I would thrive in a home that understands retrievers and the joyful energy, loyalty, and affection we bring to our families. I love carrying toys around in my mouth, running, and playing — staying active and having fun is my specialty! I adore human companionship and also get along great with my dog friends at the care facility. And trust me… I’m even cuter and more handsome in person and I promise you’ll fall in love with me at first sight!
