I was once on the final euthanasia list at the city shelter. Just before my time ran out, someone stepped in and saved me. Because of that moment, I’m here today, holding onto a second chance and hoping for a life filled with love. I’m ready to start a new chapter of my life with my forever family.

💖 MY PERSONALITY 💖

Hi, I’m Black Rose—and just you wait, my beauty is only getting started. My coat was shaved recently, so I’m not quite at my fluffiest yet—but I naturally grow soft, full fur. Give me a bit of time, and I’ll be blooming into my full, gorgeous self.

What hasn’t changed at all is how much I love people. I’m incredibly affectionate and always happy to be near you, soaking up attention and love. Being with humans is where I feel happiest. I’m full of love and ready to start fresh.

I may not look perfect right now, but my heart is. With a little patience and care, I’ll not only grow into my beautiful coat but also into the most loving, devoted companion you could ask for.

 

🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶

· With People: I’m a very loving and people-oriented dog—I don’t just adore the people I know, I’ll happily walk right up to new faces, lean in for cuddles, and let them pet me with ease. I can be comfortably picked up by supporting me under my belly—I’m perfectly okay being held like that. I haven’t had the chance to meet children under 13 yet, so I may need a gentle introduction if I do.

· With Dogs: I’m generally comfortable around bigger dogs and can be quite friendly with them. That said, if another dog comes on too strong or tries to provoke me, I might react, so I do best with calm, thoughtful introductions when meeting new dogs.

· With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown

 

⚡️ ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY ⚡️

I have moderate energy level – I enjoy getting outside and spending time in the fresh air, but I’m not overly energetic. After a nice walk or some outdoor time, I’m perfectly content to relax and rest quietly.

I’ve had lots of experience on walks, so I stay close, don’t pull on the leash, and follow my person really well.

 

🧠 TRAINING & HABITS 🧠

I’m pretty relaxed when it comes to food—I don’t feel the need to guard it, whether I’m around people or other dogs.

When there’s something I want, I’ll let you know with a little bark—I like to communicate in my own way.

I settle down nicely in my kennel and stay calm once I’m inside.

For potty, I’m flexible and can use both indoor pads and go outside.

I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:

💌 SPECIAL NOTES 💌

With other dogs, most of the time, I get along just fine but I do have my preferences. Sometimes I try to take the lead a little too confidently, and if another dog doesn’t agree, I might get sensitive about it. I’m still learning how to navigate those moments calmly, so I’d do best with guidance and understanding.
