🐾 MY RESCUE STORY 🐾

My mom was left in front of a shelter, pregnant and suffering from a bad skin condition. At the shelter, she gave birth to her litter, and I was lucky to be one of her babies. My siblings have all gone on to loving homes and I am waiting for my turn. Growing up with her taught me resilience, gentle love, and how comforting a safe place can feel.

Now I’m ready to share that warmth with someone who will care for me every day.

Hi, I’m Milky Way. People often say I’m like a tiny version of my mom, Roana—gentle, quiet, and soft-hearted. I can seem a little shy at first and may take a moment to observe from a distance, but honestly, it doesn’t take long before I come closer with curiosity and a wagging tail. Deep down, I really do love people and enjoy feeling connected to them. I have a calm and peaceful nature, though once I’m comfortable, a brighter and more playful side of me starts to appear. I’m naturally affectionate and enjoy quietly sharing space with the people and dogs I trust.

If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle companion who slowly blossoms into a loving and cheerful little shadow, I would love to grow close to you at my own comfortable pace.

 

🐶 MY SOCIAL SKILLS 🐶

· With People: I can be a little shy when meeting someone new, but I warm up quickly—especially when treats are involved. I’m comfortable being picked up, which helps me feel safe and close to my person. I haven’t had the chance to meet young children yet, so I may need a little time and gentle guidance when experiencing something new.

· With Dogs: I’m polite and calm when meeting unfamiliar dogs, usually walking up to say hello before quietly moving along rather than turning it into playtime. Even if another dog behaves rudely or tries to provoke me, I’d much rather avoid conflict and keep the peace by stepping away.

· With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown

 

⚡️ ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY ⚡️

I have low energy level – I have a calm, low-energy nature and truly enjoy peaceful moments spent resting close to my people.

On walks, I can pull a little at times, but I naturally stay connected and follow along well, making me an easy and gentle companion to spend time with.

I’m still learning about walks and building my confidence step by step. As I continue my leash training, I’m getting better at understanding how to move together with my person, and with gentle guidance and consistency, I continue to make steady progress.
